Cohort 3 gets started

Reformulated training and more StartUps than ever.

Every six weeks we run a cohort of the most talented candidates in the early stages of their careers looking to move to jobs in the StartUp world. Accessing these sorts of roles is incredibly difficult as many StartUps don’t have established HR departments and recruitment tracks in place, making working in a StartUp truly accessible. This leaves many companies missing out on the top talent and diverse and talented candidates missing out on roles that they are qualified for. It is against this backdrop that we started Libra Careers, to help StartUps recruit the most talented and diverse candidates who are ready to make an instant impact in their new roles.

In order to ensure that our candidate pool is diverse and inclusive we work closely with universities and alumni groups to understand how we can access candidates from different backgrounds. This includes carrying out talks, outreach and engaging with brand ambassadors that help us to broaden the reach of our StartUp pathway. As we grow and develop this is becoming easier, and we are delighted to see that this cohort is set to be our most diverse to date.

The diversity of the cohort is a fundamental part of our success. We believe that when candidates attend our cohorts they learn as much from each other as they do from our trainers and the StartUps that they meet. This makes it all the more important that we are highly selective in who we accept onto our cohort. From 1000 applications we accept 20-30 candidates that we know will appeal to the StartUps that we work with. These candidates come from Oxbridge and the Russell group and go through our rigorous training programme.

For cohort 3 we have significantly shaken up our training modules. With more feedback from candidates and from StartUps we have learned how to make a bigger difference for our partners than ever before. In practice, what that means is training our early career candidates on what truly means to be a StartUp. Sources of funding, go-to-market strategies and market research are all key new areas that we have introduced to make cohort 3 the most diverse and highly trained cohort yet.
